Under 14’s Rotherham league report 08/09/18

Lions played the 1st two games of the under 14’s season in Rotherham and come out with 1 win and 1 loss.

The 1st game Lions lost 15 – 1 to Khaos. This game was the 1st ever under 14’s game our under 14’s junior side have played together. They got off to a good start to the game but the experience of the Khaos players started to show in the 2nd period of the game and this ended up being the difference between the two teams.

Chris Harrison #77 won the Lions Star player award for this game because even though he had 15 shots go past him he made some amazing saves and if it was not for Chris performing so well in the game the score would of been a lot higher.

The 2nd game was a closely contested game against Rattlers where Lions managed to win the game 5 – 4. Despite the pressure put on the Lions players by a never give up attituded of the Rattlers team.  The Rattlers made it an exciting finish to the game as they scored there 4th goal in the last few minutes of the game but Lions held on to win the game and take their 1st 2 points of the season.

Grace Harrison #6 won the Lions Star player of the game award for her attitude on and off the rink in this game and helping Ellie #28 find her feet in her 1st hockey games by doing short shifts in the same line together.
