Lions finish 1st Rotherham Season

This season has seen our junior side take on a big challenge in taking part in the Rotherham under 14’s league.

Lions junior players have been through it all some big losses, Shot player games and unexpected wins but they all came though it and have taken a lot from the 1st season to.

Alfie Kelly won the MVP award due to his positive and never give up attitude All season Alfie has had a smile on his face no matter the score or toughness of the games. Alfie stepped up when our netminder was injured and played  2 games in goal where he faced 69 shots and let in 34 Goals which gave him a 0.507 save % which for someone who has not played in goal before is an amazing stat to have.

Ethan Trickett finished with the most points on 30 with 26 goals and 4 assists but the surprise stats went to Oliver Gotts who finished on 8 points with 7 goals and 1 assist. Oliver was playing up 2 age groups so this in its self is a massive achievement.

Lions finished 6th in the league which is higher than anyone thought we would finish with 3 wins but our group of players had nothing but praise from all of the teams we played this season for our never give up attitude and for always being positive even when we were losing games.

We would like to thank all the players, Staff and Parents who took part in our 1st season in the Rotherham league and our players have said they would like to go back again next year and push for a higher finish.

Every player who has played for Lions this year has seen improvement in there game and it has seen Lions Junior grow as a team.
