With a 2018 now over Lions are looking to push even more in 2019.
2018 saw lions grow again in both the Junior and Senior sides of the club. Both side now have more players signed up for the leagues than we have had before.
We saw our Junior side sign up to the Rotherham League which has helped push our junior players on more playing in a higher level league and with many of our players playing up an age group they have managed to hold their own and get 3 wins so far this season.
Our senior side has seen improvement over the last few months and we now have players competing with each other to make the match day team which is made up of 10 player.
Looking forward to 2019 we are looking to carry on growing the club throughout the year and are looking to offer hockey to every age group and abilities.
Our Junior team has the 2nd half of the Rotherham league to complete as well as the North West League which starts the end of January. Ware are looking push again this year in getting new kids involved in the sport and to grow our Junior teams across all age groups.
We will be looking at entering a girls tournament over the Easter holidays. We are also looking at creating some mini tournaments for our 14 + players with beginner senior players so everyone can have game experience. More news will come out regarding venues and dates over the next few weeks.
As it stands our training session for Juniors is on a Saturday morning 10am until 12pm at Ardwick sports Hall and senior session is on a Thursday evening 9pm until 10:30pm at Atherton Roller Rink but as the club grows and our plans start to take shape we will look to hold more training sessions.
Our Children in need event was also a big hit between Manchester Roller Hockey and Lions that we are going to look to hold more events like this in 2019.
