Busy weekend for Lions

This weekend has seen the start of the North West under 16’s and Senior Leagues which Lions are taking part in.

We also had our Toddler session and Junior Training which had seen a very good turn out even though we had some of our players playing in the under 16s age group.

Saturday morning Lions under 16’s played 3 games.

The 1st game was against the Devils which was seen as game of the day in a very close game where Devils managed to edge out a 4 -3 win and take the first 2 points of the under 16’s League.

The 2nd game we came up against a much improved Newport team but with losing the 1st game Lions pressed and managed a 7 – 3 win.

The last game of the day Lions played a team made up of new players in Wrexham which Lions won 17 – 2 but this score did not reflect on how the game was played. Wrexham had some good chances and also played the game the right way no matter the score line.

Sunday was the start of the North West Senior league and this season it was decided that A & B teams will play each other for extra points towards the A and B league tables.

Lions Senior season got underway playing 2 A teams in Bradford and Heywood.

Lions 1st game against Bradford was a 7 – 0 loss but this score line did not reflect the game. Lions had 4 or 5 great chances to score goals but could just not get the puck in the back of the goal.  Despite the score the Lions players never gave up and pushed Bradford from start to finish in the game.

The 2nd game against Heywood Lions players were determined to get goals and despite going 3 – 0 down they managed to pull it back but Heywood’s experience came through towards the end of the game and they managed to win the game 8 – 5. Again just like the 1st game against Bradford the players never gave up and pushed Heywood all the way.

We are now looking forward to a busy month in November where Lions Black & White will be starting in the West League.

We will also see the Start of the Under 10’s, Under 12’s, Under 14’s junior North West Leagues.

Lions Seniors will be facing Voodoo & Wigan in the North West Senior League.

Flaming Skulls have the 2nd WISE Cup games in Ireland and start the Women’s North West League.

We still have places left in all of our teams both Keepers and Players. We don’t have trials we offer all players the ability to play so if you would like to come and join us drop us a message or come down to one of our training session.
